Jim Galvin

Jim Galvin, long time Serran, passed away on November 30th, 2019. A copy of his obituary published in the December 2nd, 2019 issue of the Tennessean follows. James Joseph "Jim" Galvin, Sr.

Gallatin - Mr. James Joseph "Jim" Galvin, Sr. age 83, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on November 30, 2019.

Mr. Galvin was born in Detroit, MI, on March 24, 1936, the son of the late Dr. Paul Galvin and Veronica Dillon Galvin. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 25 years before establishing and operating Miracle Ford, Inc. and Miracle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Gallatin, TN. Jim was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for 40 years. He was very active in the Serra club, Knights of Columbus, and ministering to the sick. He also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sportsman especially watching Detroit, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt. Most importantly he loved his faith and his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shella Janisse Galvin, to whom he was married on February 13, 1960; four children, Lynn Odell (Jim), Jim Galvin, Jr. (Kathy), Tim J. Galvin (Tracie), and Lori Martini (Mike), fourteen grandchildren, Jimmy Odell, Pamela Wegenka (Joe), Erin Bade (Dan), Timmy Galvin, Amie Tewell (Matthew), Jenna Nelson (Alex), Katie Odell, Sarah Galvin, Jamie Galvin, Matthew Galvin, Michael Martini, Maria Martini, Nick Martini, and Ella Martini; five great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Caroline Bade, Ava Grace Galvin, Charlie Wegenka, and Emma Tewell; and eight siblings, Paul Galvin (Mickey), Pat Galvin (Ces), Mary Frances Dietz (Dr. Gerald Dietz), Bill Galvin (Lynn), Maureen Clement, Rosemary Etue, Sharon Stokes (Bob), and Theresa Sands (Rick). Also, a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Mass was held Friday, December 6, 2019, at 11:00 A.M., Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment was held Friday, December 6, 2019, at 3:00 P.M., Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
